Lara Oreskovic was born in Zagreb, Croatia. She is an artist who has followed her restless and curious nature around the world, lived and worked in Spain, Denmark, and Canada, then settled in Bologna, Italy where she opened an art studio and continued her artistic exploration and need to understand why do people feel compelled to conform to societal norms by fitting in the box, at the expense of their own nature and identity just because somebody wants them to fit in and gain control, while developing her own unique technique and visual language.
Expressing her thoughts and philosophy by creatively repurposing various materials and employing masters’ tools, heat, and flame; this destructive and regenerative approach infuses her work with a dynamic, living pattern and leads her to immerse herself in thoughts about surreal reality.
Has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and has curated various cultural events.
Additionally, she collaborates on theatrical set design and works in graphic design, short-form video filming and editing (including reels), and curating visual art projects. Since 2024, she’s a member of the Daydreaming Project cultural association.
Her works are collected in the United States, Spain, Canada, Denmark, England, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Croatia. Lives in Trieste.
